DiG – John 6

Church is now on this Bible Reading Drive, where we do Disciples in Groups and so… I have decided to make it a point to do my devotions and sharing it on this platform, as a way to remind me of my thoughts and reflections.

Read: John 6 “Chapter on Faith”
V6: He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

Observe:
It is like our daily walk with God, He wants to test us to know where we stand in our faith in Him and whether we trust in obedience. When the disciples did what was told, in obedience, they did not question what God did was right or wrong but they just followed Him. That was when God showed His providential love towards His people. Not only does God provide, He gives more than enough. So you think you have eaten your fill but there is still extra. So that just shows that God’s wealth/grace is more than what we expect, more than what we desire and as long as we obey Him.

Read:
V35: Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

Observe:
Hunger – the God-shaped void in our hearts that only God can satisfy. When non-believers read this, they will probably think of the literal bread and not recognize the void that they have in them that leads them to do worldly things. Bread of life – the word, the constant in our lives.

Application:

It is very easy for us to just say “yeahhhhh walking in faith. Im walking in faith” but it is always a good reminder that faith without action is dead. Lip service always seems great because we want others to think that we know what we are doing but actually living it out is difficult. So for me, living in faith out of obedience would be DTS. Right now I am still seeking for financial support and for church and visa approval. So living in faith for me would be to trust that God will provide because He has brought me here thus far and all I have to do is to walk in obedience.
